My parents moved our family to Luverne when I was a small child – my dad was the hospital administrator and my mom worked in the lab. My brother Steve and I went to school here, I took dance lessons and we enjoyed playing with the neighborhood kids. We moved due to Dad’s work, but reconnected with many of my friends in college.

I married my college sweetheart, Randy Smyth, 36 years ago and moved to Luverne for the second time in my life. Randy and I have a son, Rann, whom we are very proud of. It was a joy to raise him in this small town environment which puts an emphasis on Faith, Family and Fun.

Throughout my years in Luverne, I have been actively engaged in community service and local initiatives that uplift our Community. My work as a City Council Member for the past 9 years has equipped me with the municipal knowledge, insight and skills needed to navigate challenges, build confidence, and drive purposeful plans for the future. I believe in the power of collaboration, and I am dedicated to listening to each of you—hearing your concerns, understanding your needs, and building relationships.

I’ve also owned my own business, ReImagined, since 2014. I understand the trials and challenges of owning a small business, so I know what to do help and encourage others.
